Descripción
Amoxicilina es un antibiótico de amplio espectro perteneciente al grupo de las penicilinas semi-sintéticas. Su acción bactericida actúa inhibiendo la síntesis de la pared celular de las bacterias, lo que provoca su destrucción. Es eficaz en el tratamiento de diversas infecciones causadas por bacterias Gram positivas y Gram negativas, y es utilizado en varias especies animales como caninos, felinos, bovinos, ovinos, caprinos y porcinos. Se emplea principalmente para tratar infecciones del tracto respiratorio, urinario, digestivo, así como en infecciones cutáneas y de tejidos blandos. Su uso proporciona una protección prolongada, lo que lo hace útil en tratamientos preventivos y curativos en medicina veterinaria.
